While sports massages are used by athletes to prepare for events and help to restore their body to health post-event, you don’t need to be an athlete to benefit from it.
If you’re experiencing aches, pains or limited motion in specific areas of your body, a sports massage can help you relax and be the first step towards being pain free. Talk to our Auckland sports massage therapist today.
PODIATRY & ORTHOTICS
Don’t let a foot, ankle or lower leg musculoskeletal injury keep you from being at your best every day.
With the latest diagnosis equipment and treatment options in podiatry available for you here at Sports Lab, our Auckland podiatrist team will help you start each day putting your best foot forward.
PHYSIOTHERAPY & REHABILITATION
For many, the end goal of physiotherapy is just to restore the body’s function to normality. However, we believe that this is only the beginning of physiotherapy.
Through the use of specialist equipment, our Auckland physio team will help you identify the reasons that are causing your recurring injuries and provide ways to prevent them.
Biomechanics does not specifically relate to robots or machines as we generally think of them. Biomechanics is the study of human movement and at Sports Lab this is what gets us excited. We are all geeks here at the lab and when we put our minds to something we like to be as thorough as possible. Our key passion is biomechanics.
We want to find out exactly how you move, what causes you move that way and how can we help you to move more efficiently and effectively.
What make us different ?
Having Physiotherapy, Podiatry and Sports Massage under the same roof means it’s possible for us to use a multi-faceted approach to treatment. Our providers will often refer between each other for treatment they think will be most beneficial.
At Sports Lab it’s important to us that we spend enough time with people for them to understand their injuries and how we are going to go about rectifying them.
We feel that there’s not much point in treating the symptoms if you don’t understand the cause. To us it’s important to make sure you understand your injury and can use that knowledge to prevent reoccurrence.
With our Gait-Lab full of F-Scan, Silicon Coach and Matt Scan technology we have the means to objectively analyse injury and cause, minimizing error in diagnosis.
Coming from sporting backgrounds, competitive and recreational, ourselves, means that we have a unique understanding and knowledge of what it means to be an athlete. Not only does this give us expertise in the bio-mechanics of our sports but it also lends knowledge of rehabilitation, training with injury and race day preparations.
It’s important to us that the overall experience of Sports Lab is enjoyable. We like to foster good relationships with our community. Once you are a Lab-Local you’re sort of stuck with us, and we will do all we can to follow and support your achievements.
