Ray Gesta

Massage Therapist – Grafton and North Shore Lab Education:
Ray graduated from the New Zealand College of Massage with a Bachelor of Health Studies in Massage and Neuromuscular Therapy in 2018. Since then he has added to his toolbox by completing the Integrated Dry Needling course in early 2019.

Ray has worked with the some of the top sports teams in the country, including; Warriors, All Blacks Sevens and Auckland Rugby Mitre10 Cup team. This has given him valuable experience in the demands placed on the body by high level sport, and has been able to determine the best option for managing these demands. He has rounded his experience by also working in a medical centre in Auckland. This has given him experience working with a wide variety of patient groups, where Ray has developed an interest and specialism in treating chronic pain clients.

Professional views and special interests:
Like many of our team, Ray enjoys working holistically to look at the whole body. He has exceptional hands-on skills to treat the injured area, while also identifying the contributing factors to the problem. Ray has a keen interest in clients with neck and back pain, and enjoys delving deeper to find the root cause of the issue. He strongly believes massage is a great way to prevent injuries and speed up recovery time.

Outside of the Lab:
With a love for martial arts, Ray enjoys keeping fit with kickboxing and boxing. He has travelled to Thailand and Miami, where he trained extensively to improve his technique and skills. He also enjoys snowboarding, but most recently he ran his first half marathon. He hopes to run more half marathons and is also planning his trail running debut this year.
